Financial Donations and Fundraising

Like all museums, we rely on the generosity of our public through financial donations, fundraising and sponsorship to not only stay open, but to expand and provide programs and services tailored to our community's needs. We receive funding from the Town of Drayton Valley and Brazeau County for operational expenses, but must raise funds through Provincial and Federal grants, fundraising events, and, most importantly, individual and company donations to continue growing and providing our unique services to our community.

Monetary donations can be made the following ways:

Annual Operating Donations: these donations are put towards the Museum's operating expenses, including grounds and building maintenance, collections and archival supplies, and program expenses. Recognition is by a plaque on our donation board. A charitable tax receipt is issued at the time of donation.

Monthly Donations: using our donation form below provided by, you can now make monthly donations to the Museum for programming, general operations, and project funds. Charitable tax receipts are issued at the end of the year, and donors are recognized with a plaque on our donation board.

Project Donations: donors can now select a specific fund or project they would like to contribute to, using the donation form below. Funds go towards several ongoing restoration projects for the Museum's historic buildings, general operations, and summer youth programs. Donor recognition is by a plaque on our donation board.

As a registered charity and non-profit, the Historical Society is able to issue charitable tax receipts for all donations made towards the Museum. In addition there are event donations, planned giving, in-kind gifts and donations, and corporate sponsorship opportunities available.
